This gentle eroding quietly shapes the sand, reminding us that nature's greatest transformations occur through persistence rather than force. This work celebrates the rhythms that continually sculpt and renew the landscape.

Wet season was inspired by the constant rain we had through the Pioneer Valley at the start of this year, 2026. Muggy and humid, the misty rain concealed and revealed the tree trunks while fat droplets dripped from the leaves.

This artwork celebrates the hardy nature of our native Pandanus trees which use their unique, aerial prop roots to take hold and thrive on exposed coastal headlands. Its ability to anchor itself in challenging locations serves as a symbol of strength and resilience. This piece is a fusion of traditional and contemporary processes, beginning with photographs taken at the Mackay harbour and Lamberts Beach in Queensland, Australia, which are then transferred to canvas and merged with the mixed media background.
